Maryland Department of Labor’s Unemployment Insurance

Maryland workers affected by the bridge collapse and closure can call the dedicated unemployment insurance hotline Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at 667-930-5989 for help in filing unemployment insurance claims.

Maryland American Job Centers

Maryland has 34 American Job Centers statewide to allow workers to file for UI benefits in person, as well as take advantage of programs designed to support workers in finding new employment.

There are several sites in Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County, and Baltimore City, please find the center closest to you here. The Eastpoint American Job Center in Baltimore County is closest in proximity to the Port’s Dundalk terminals and has enhanced UI staff to assist with specific questions for workers affected by the Key Bridge closure.

On-site services at each American Job Centers include:

  • Career exploration
  • Training referrals
  • Resume help
  • Computer and printer access

Maryland Department of Labor Rapid Response Team

Maryland’s Rapid Response team can provide technical assistance to workers or businesses in order to take advantage of Maryland’s Business Services representatives. This team helps coordinate workforce programs, ensuring that businesses can work to plan for and respond to potential layoffs in order to minimize their impact on workers and businesses.
